BIC kicked off our 30th year with a BBQ on October 20. We had live music, awards, tenant booths, and great food, Kannah Creek beer and local wines.
It’s amazing to think that in the past 29 years we’ve had 330 Incubator Program participants who have employed 1,113 employees, contributed $174,765,000 (yes, that’s millions!) in revenue to our county and created 10,948 jobs in the community as a result. Our Business Loan Fund has made loans to 451 businesses, for $23.2 million, creating or retaining 2,044 jobs, leveraging and additional $62 million, for $85.2 million in DIRECT economic impact for Mesa County. In just the last 5 years, the Grand Junction Small Business Development Center has helped start 126 companies with $129 million in capital formation and worked with 1,500 businesses. Along with the GJmakerspace and the Mesa County Enterprise Zone, BIC continues to have an incredible impact on the local community’s economy.
BIC has received the International Business Innovation Association (InBIA) Incubator of the Year award twice, and is an Incubation Industry Best Practice. Overall, BIC and its clients have garnered 5 InBIA awards in those 29 years. We look forward to many more in the coming years!
