Geothermal Industry & Market Open House
Join us for a Geothermal Industry & Market Open House on March 9, 2026, at Colorado Mesa University, from 2:30 – 5:30 p.m. Learn about geothermal power generation and what it could mean for our Colorado communities. Geothermal power represents a significant emerging opportunity—providing 24/7 baseload electricity while catalyzing a supply chain of drilling, engineering, construction, and field services similar to those that support the oil and gas sector—with the potential to offer durable economic activity alongside firm, local energy generation.
This interactive event will connect industry experts, local governments, economic development leaders, geothermal developers, and state regulators. Engage in technical presentations, a Q&A session, and an opportunity to meet geothermal power companies. We’ll explore when and how we might see more geothermal energy projects in our region, and how jurisdictions will play a role in project permitting. What does a geothermal power plant look like? What are its potential impacts? What are the job opportunities and benefits? Why is the Department of Energy prioritizing geothermal in 2026?
Agenda:
Doors open / networking 2:30 – 3:00 p.m.
Presentations and Q & A 3:00 – 4:30 p.m.
Open House 4:30 – 5:30 p.m.
