The Business Incubator Center

Our mission: The Business Incubator Center supports the launch, growth, stabilization and long-term success of business enterprises in Mesa County and the surrounding region. We measure success by our ability to guide entrepreneurs through sound business decisions and our positive influence on economic growth in the region. The Business Incubator provides several programs to support this mission:

  • Free or low cost classes, coaching, networking and workshops geared to start-up or existing small business through the Small Business Development Center and other entities
  • Space for lease to client companies including a licensed commercial kitchen and light manufacturing, office and technology
  • Affiliate space, with hourly rent and shared services, for those who don’t need a full-time workspace
  • Small business financing through the Business Loan Fund of Mesa County
  • Enterprise Zone tax credit and contribution project administration through the Mesa County Enterprise Zone

Colorado Wash

Colorado Wash offers pressure cleaning services in the the Grand Valley. Commercial and residential, they do it all!

Want to jump-start your entry into small business? Our spring session of The Leading Edge begins February 13.

This intensive 12-week training course provides business owners and entrepreneurs expert guidance in the areas of cash flow management, marketing, finance, personnel, legal issues, and more. Each participant will receive hands-on assistance in preparing a complete business plan.

The highly interactive Leading Edge Program is geared to help the business by providing them with the skills necessary to execute a viable, marketable business plan. Each participant receives hands-on individualized assistance in preparing a business plan. The course includes 36 hours of intensive training facilitated by a State Certified Instructor, and a minimum of 4 hours of individual consulting.

The principal requirements for graduation are regular attendance and participation in each session, in addition to completion of a formal business plan or feasibility study for each business, and participants are also expected to make a presentation to the class at the end of the course.

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE? Owners of start-up and existing businesses. Sixty percent of our Leading Edge participants have been existing businesses and efforts have been made to provide specialized classes within the Leading Edge program to address special needs of both start-up and existing businesses.
